The Builder’s Creed
- We value agency over dependency
- In this community, we distinguish between two modes of participation:
-
What we practice
- “I found someone” over “we need someone”
- “Here’s an algorithm” over “someone should figure this out”
- “I’ll build a prototype” over “we need a product”
- “I contacted X, here’s what they said” over “we should reach out to people”*
-
The Sovereignty Principle
- Before raising a need, ask yourself:
-
“Am I proposing something within my control, or requesting something outside of it?”
- Sovereign contribution = specific person + specific action + your commitment to facilitate
- Parasitic pattern = abstract category + vague expectation + zero personal stake
-
Examples
-
❌ Parasitic ✅ Sovereign ”We need VCs" "I know Alex at [Fund], I’ll intro us next week" "We need marketing" "I wrote a thread, here’s the draft for feedback" "We need a market maker" "I analyzed 3 MMs, here’s comparison and my recommendation”

The Rule
- Don’t wish for resources
- Either bring them, build them, or design the path to them
